The odd couple romance between Lynn, a women’s rights activist, and Stewart, an influential pastor, takes off during a charity stage play collaboration, where they are tested right out of the gate when Stewart’s deranged ex-girlfriend lands the play’s lead role.
A financial scandal festers; trustees are hell-bent on expelling Stewart while Lynn’s growing influence and feminist candor, in the hundred-year old church, draws the venom of a bigoted, philandering church leader who targets Lynn, and manipulates women into going after Lynn.
In all, six fully fleshed characters clash with such emotional force, their conflict triggers acts of extreme vengeance, heroism, faith and sacrifice – spilled over canvases of gender, tradition, and the matriculation of the word of God. As Stewart and Lynn barrel down their shared path, they are forced to stop and reckon with each other’s dark secrets, as they stare down jarring consequences.
